Fedespedi (Italian Federation of International Freight Forwarding Companies) has been the only business organisation in Italy protecting the interests of international forwarding companies since 1946. The freight forwarding industry gives a key contribution to the Italian logistics industry with a turnover of 33 billion euros per year (2022) and a 2.5% share of the country’s GDP. Fedespedi, founded on 11 June 1946, has its headquarters in Milan and associates more than 1,600 companies (4,700 local units) employing 60,000 people and is part of a vast association network: at national level it is a member of Confetra (Italian General Confederation of Transport and Logistics) and represents international forwarding companies operating in Italy in CLECAT at European level and in FIATA at world level. Fedespedi includes ANAMA (National Association of Air Cargo Agents), ANTEP (National Association of Port Terminal Operators) and FISI (Italian Federation of Industrial Forwarders). The Federation is present across the country through its network of 30 Local Associations.
